Special Bred Cattle Sale for 12/15/2014

Today was Billings Livestock bred cattle special. The auction barn
was packed with ranchers looking to fill pastures for spring calving season.
Majority of cattle sold today were in moderate flesh condition, with very few
thin or fleshy offerings. Demand for all bred cattle was moderate to good for
mostly moderate offerings. Several reputation herds sold either complete dispersion
or dispersion based on age. Many cattle were AI bred and cleaned up with very
high quality bulls. Majority of sales today were cattle set to calve in a tight
calving window, 45 days or less. All cattle were sold per head.
Bred Heifers: Medium and Large 1-2 for Feb-Apr 1010-1170 lbs 2475.00-2800.00,
for Apr-May calving 2225.00-2400.00, few to 2585.00.
Bred Heifers: Medium 1-2 845-972 lbs for Feb-April calving 2225.00, May-June
Bred Cows: Medium and Large 1-2 Young (3-4 year olds) 1232-1325 lbs for Feb-
March calving 2800.00-2900.00, 1120-1411 March-May calving 2675.00-3025.00, few
2550.00-2600.00. May-June calving few 2325.00-2450.00
Bred Cows: Medium and Large 1-2 5-6 year olds for Mar 1-Apr 30 calving 1272-1445
Bred Cows: Medium and Large 1-2 Middle Aged (solid mouth) for Feb-May calving 1270-
1498 lbs 1850.00-2075.00, package bred Herford 1775.00, June-July calving 1800.00.
