Richards is AVC Consultant of the Year

Tim Richards, DVM, Kamuela, Hawaii, (center) was named the 2011 Academy of Veterinary Consultants (AVC) Consultant of the Year at last week's winter AVC meeting in Denver. The annual award, sponsored by Pfizer Animal Health, is the most prestigious award from the AVC, and is now in its 25th year. It recognizes a member's contributions to the AVC, the field of veterinary medicine and the beef cattle industry.

Large attendance at winter AVC

The well-attended winter meeting of the Academy of Veterinary Consultants covered timely topics such as cattle welfare, antimicrobial resistance, BRD treatment, food safety, euthanasia, treating sick baby calves and more. More than 250 members attended the meeting in Denver. Also discussed were plans for the AVC 2012 spring meeting April 12-14 in Washington, D.C.
