Farm Rescue is a one-of-a-kind nonprofit organization that plants, harvests and hays crops free of charge for family farmers who have suffered a major injury, illness or natural disaster. And now you can help raise money for their efforts with a simple mouse click.

Farm Rescue is based in North Dakota and operates there as well as in South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa and eastern Montana. The organization, which was founded in 2006, brings volunteers to a farm to do the physical labor rather than send a check. To date, Farm Rescue has aided more than 250 farm families.

“Our ability to help families on the land is 100% dependent upon some pretty amazing people — volunteers, sponsors and individual donors,” founder Bill Gross, a North Dakota farm boy who now makes a living flying a cargo plane out of Alaska, says. “They give of their time, talents and financial resources to help put a crop in the ground or harvest its bounty for families that are in crisis.”

And now those hoping to help Farm Rescue assist more farm families during times of unexpected crises can do so by clicking through one or more of these portal links on the organization’s website when shopping at Amazon or Walmart. Farm Rescue has been approved by Amazon and Walmart to receive a percentage of the total dollar amount from purchases completed through the Farm Rescue page.

“The links are safe and secure since your purchases are completed on the website of Amazon or Walmart,” Farm Rescue’s website says. “There is no additional cost to any items purchased. Purchases are the same as you have always done except that you are now helping Farm Rescue to assist more families.”

Visitors to the website also can sign up to volunteer, donate directly or submit the name of a family in need. For more information, visit http://www.farmrescue.org.
