A new dairy safety training tool is now available from New Mexico State University Dairy Extension.

“Considering Human and Animal Safety” is available in both English and Spanish and can help you train your employees on the proper way to handle animals. Training covers safety when moving animals, understanding how dairy cows see, working with locking stanchions, animal handling in treatment chutes, milking, safety around electricity, working with chemicals, safety around bulls, safety around heavy equipment, power-take-off safety, manure lagoons and four-wheelers.

For more information or to obtain a copy of the DVD, contact Robert Hagevoort at: dairydoc@ad.nmsu.edu.
