A new method of harvesting whole-plant corn for silage, called “corn shredlage,” has been receiving a lot of interest lately. However, there is limited information available about this process.
In a new “Focus on Forage” article, Luiz Ferraretto and Randy Shaver with the University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Dairy Science, provide responses to the most frequently asked questions concerning this topic. They base their answers on a recent feeding trial involving corn shredlage fed to lactating dairy cows at the UW Blaine Arlington Dairy.
