New SCC benchmarking tool

A new somatic cell count assessment tool is available at the University of Wisconsin Milk Quality web site.

The SCC Comparison Tool allows dairy producers to compare their herd’s bulk tank somatic cell counts with other herds around the nation. The benchmarking approach can be used to identify areas of strengths and weaknesses on individual farms and to set performance goals, such as improved diagnosis of future health-related problems.

Using the Project C.O.W. database, results can be based on management type, herd size, milk production, years dairying and time of year.
