Online dairy courses to be offered

Two University of Illinois dairy courses will be offered online this fall, beginning Sept. 10. The courses are:

Advanced Dairy Management and Diagnostics (ANSC 405) covers calf and heifer management, pasture and forage systems, housing and milking systems, manure management, health and economics. The course also includes several diagnostic labs to evaluate dairy farm management.

Advanced Dairy Reproduction (ANSC 437) covers all phases of reproductive physiology, management, nutrition, vaccination and health.

Lectures are recorded and available on line (class on demand) with an Internet live class held during the 10 weeks of class on Monday nights from 6 to 7 p.m. CST (management) and 8 to 9 p.m .central standard time (reproduction). Enrollees can enroll for credit (U of I tuition rate), continuing education credit rate, or non-credit or audit rate with reduced tuition.
