California producers, if you’ve been thinking about switching to a variable-frequency drive vacuum pump for your dairy, now is the time to do it.

The “Express Efficiency Program” rewards producers for investing in more energy-efficient equipment for their dairy farm business. The program teams up Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Southern California Edison, San Diego Gas and Electric Company and Southern California Gas Company to help customers statewide save money.

Dairy producers can earn a rebate of $68 per unit of horsepower if they switch from a standard, constant-speed vacuum pump to a variable-frequency drive vacuum pump before
Oct. 15.

In addition, the program also offers rebates for lighting, refrigeration, motors, sprinklers and more. For more information, call (800) 468-4743, or visit the PG&E’s Web site at:
