Double up on the plastic

To minimize surface spoilage in bunkers and drive-over piles, use two sheets of polyethylene plastic, says Keith Bolsen, professor emeritus at Kansas State University. Overlap the sheets by at least 4 to 6 feet. You also can use a single sheet of oxygen-barrier film such as Silostop. Either method is preferred to a single sheet of plastic.
