Did you know that you can earn money through carbon trading simply by using no-till farming? No-till practices help keep carbon in the soil, which reduces the buildup of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. A growing number of energy industries are willing to pay for the carbon that is kept in the soil.

Carbon that trades at $1.70 per ton of carbon dioxide translates into revenue of roughly $1 per acre. “At that rate, a farmer with 1,000 acres of no-till could earn $1,000 annually for merely continuing his established practices,” says Mark Wilson, president of Land Stewards, LLC in Columbus, Ohio.
