If you’re purchasing or selling hay and haylage, a new conversion chart will help you determine an accurate price at various moisture levels.

Mike Ballweg, University of Wisconsin extension ag agent for Sheboygan County, and Gary Frank, interim director of the University of Wisconsin Center for Dairy Profitability developed the tool.

To access the conversion chart entitled “Equivalent Purchase Price per Ton of Hay and Haylage at Various Moistures,” go to the Web site at: http://cdp.wisc.edu/ and click on “what’s new.”
