A few formula modifications were instituted with the unveiling of the November bull proofs from Holstein Association USA. To meet changing industry emphasis, the organization modified how it calculates the type-production index — adding more emphasis on pounds of fat, functional type and somatic cell score.

In addition, the minimum reliability cutoff has been raised for sires that appear on the Top 100 TPI list. And, the reliability value for productive life had been added to the Top 100 TPI proof format.

For more information about these changes, contact Holstein Association USA at (800) 952-5200 or visit the Web site at: www.holsteinusa.com
