Improve dairy management skills online

An online dairy herd management course is being offered through Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College- Rice Lake.

“Internet Dairy Herd Management” is a three-credit course designed for individuals who wish to pursue a career in the dairy industry or enhance their knowledge of dairy management. It is designed as a one-semester course and is self-paced and performance-based. All assignments will be accessed and submitted to the instructor online. Learning modules include: calf care, heifer management, basic ruminant nutrition, metabolic disorders, biosecurity, milking management and mastitis prevention, reproduction, livestock handling and more.

Registration for the spring semester class runs through the end of February 2005. The class will be offered each fall and spring, depending on demand.
