Program to help with environmental plans

Federal dollars are available to assist livestock producers in the western half of the country with environmental assessments and comprehensive nutrient-management planning.

The funds have been made available through a federal grant from the Environmental Protection Agency to the Environmental Resources Coalition, an agriculture-affiliated not-for-profit organization. The Comprehensive Livestock Environmental and Nutrient Management Plan-West program is expected to last approximately three more years, unless funds are depleted earlier.
