Read vaccine label claims

If you need help deciding which vaccine is right for you, read the label. In particular, look for a statement that explains the level of protection offered by the vaccine.

The USDA can grant one of five levels of protection, as follows:

• Aid in disease prevention.
• Aid in disease control.
• Other claims.
