A new survey, funded in part by the National Corn Growers Association, shows that U.S. farmers and ranchers fare well in the court of public opinion.

The public thinks you do a good job when it comes to providing a healthy and cost-effective food supply. By contrast, animal-rights organizations got low ratings. Only 7 percent of the respondents said animal-rights groups were “extremely “or “very” influential in influencing their buying decisions.

More than 1,000 adults were polled on a variety of agricultural issues.
