Spend time with pre-fresh heifers

Researchers at Newcastle University in the United Kingdom recently revealed that spending as little as five minutes per week with pre-fresh heifers two to three months before calving can make the transition to milking easier on all involved. They found that heifers that were brushed and had positive human contact exhibited faster milk letdown and were less likely to kick than those in the control group.
