Have you ever looked on the opposite side of your heifers’ feed bunk for trampled feed? As feed cost increases, wasted feed is something you don’t want to see at the feed bunk or in the alley where your heifers stand.

“At the end of the day, we don’t want any feed on (either) side of the bunk,” says Pat Hoffman, dairy scientist at the University of Wisconsin’s Marshfield Agricultural Research Station. “We want it all gone and retained.”

Put an end to feed loss by practicing good bunk management — just like you would do with your cows.
