Nebraska dairy producer Todd Tuls is excited that he is now able to direct load milk onto tankers. Sure, it means he no longer needs bulk tanks, but that’s not the only benefit. Other benefits include:

  • Reduced chemical cost. Not having to wash bulk tanks will cut his chemical use in half. That’s a savings of about $5,000 per month.
  • Less water use. No longer washing bulk tanks means that less water (containing chemicals) flows into his lagoon.
  • Less electricity use. The savings here are two-fold: (1) less electricity used to heat water and (2) no electricity needed to power bulk tanks.
