Moving large, round bales can be hazardous duty. Use the following rules to stay safe when moving round bales with a tractor and loader:
-
Do not overfill the loader.
-
Transport the load as low as possible to avoid overturning.
-
Move and turn the tractor at low speeds.
-
Set wheels to the widest setting possible to increase tractor stability.
-
Never transport or lift anyone on the loader or its attachments.
-
Raise and lower loads gradually.
-
Operate the loader from the operator’s seat only.
-
Never let anyone walk under a loaded front-end loader.
-
Always level the loader bucket as the load is lifted to help prevent the load from rolling onto the operator.
