Artificial insemination is more profitable than natural-service sires, according to an economic analysis by the University of Wisconsin Healthy Farmers, Healthy Profits Project.
The findings reveal that using AI breeding exclusively yields up to $79 more net income per cow per year than natural-service bulls. It also shows AI breeding is even more profitable for heifers. The table below summarizes the results.
