Herd monitor reports most productive reproductive times

an automated herd monitoring system developed by a Northern Ireland company is designed to help identify which cows should be bred and when. Currently available in Europe, the patented 4sight system includes digital surveillance monitoring, optical electronic sensors, as well as record-keeping software that stores and reports reproductive details for individual cows. The system also identifies infertile cows. Fionn Technologies says the system is highly reliable, and plans to broaden the system’s spectrum of use to include herd management, health, quality assurance monitoring and bio surveillance and traceability.
