New filtration tool available

U.S. patents have recently been awarded for a SmartFlow technology that provides optimized separation and purification of milk, whey and colostrum while minimizing waste. It uses cross-flow filtration, chromatography and fermentation to separate and fully fractionate useable milk components, ultimately contributing to the production of a wide variety of consumer and nutraceutical products like baby formula, processed cheese and nutritional supplements.

Creators of the tool anticipate that it will bring economic benefit to producers since it will enable processors to cost-effectively produce multiple fractions of milk and whey not previously possible.
