Predict mycotoxin levels in corn

A new computer program from the USDA’s agricultural research service makes it easier for you to predict mycotoxins in your corn crop. Mycotoxin Predictor 1.1 is a Windows-friendly program that uses equations to mathematically predict mycotoxin levels, using temperature, soil, type, insect populations and other factors that influence the growth and spread of mycotoxin-causing molds.  The program enables users to predict the likelihood — and levels — of contamination more than a month before harvest. Researchers are currently looking for a partner to bring the program to market.
