CWT assists with 3.9 million lbs. of cheese, WMP export sales

Cooperatives Working Together (CWT) accepted 8 requests for export assistance to sell 1.645 million lbs. of cheddar cheese, and 2.222 million lbs. of whole milk powder to customers in North Africa, Central and South America.

Bids were accepted from CWT-member co-ops Dairy Farmers of America and Tillamook County Creamery Association.  The products will be delivered July 2014 through January 2015.

Year-to-date, CWT has assisted member cooperatives in selling 78.313 million lbs. of cheese, 47.995 million lbs. of butter and 18.290 million lbs. of whole milk powder to 42 countries on six continents. These sales are the equivalent of 1.936 billion lbs. of milk on a milkfat basis. The year-to-date sums have been adjusted for cancellations.
