California dairy’s hay supply burns away

KCRA reports a hay barn at GJ Silva Dairy caught fire Monday morning in Turlock, Calif. burning up to 1,000 tons of hay.

The fire started around 7 a.m. Monday and will take several weeks to burn itself out. Multiple fire departments arrived at the scene to control the flames. The fire did not spread past one hay barn. No cows were injured.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and is being investigated.
