As the Greek yogurt craze persists, Chobani, the leader in the Greek yogurt market, wants to keep customers interested in its products by providing new flavors to entice the palate.
Chobani added three new lines of Greek yogurt to its original line of blended and fruit-on-the-bottom yogurts.
- Chobani Flip adds healthy nuts and seeds—chia seeds, hemp seeds and almonds—to increase the nutritional value of yogurt and provide valuable antioxidants.
- Chobani Bite, meanwhile, provides more decadent flavors—honey with ginger and mint with dark chocolate chips—in 100-calorie portions, making yogurt a satisfying, healthy alternative to dessert.
- Chobani Champions, targeted toward kids, comes in both cups and tubes to fit into lunchboxes. Kids (and adults) will be excited to unpack exotic flavors, like Flyin’ Dragon Fruit.
Chobani founder, Hamdi Ulukaya, was named the nation’s top entrepreneur in 2012 for his popularization of Greek yogurt in the U.S. market and, as a result, has started the current biggest trend in the dairy market.
Greek yogurt has received its fame for its high amount of protein and low fat content. A 6-ounce serving of Greek yogurt contains 15-20 grams of protein. The USDA has recognized the nutritional value of Greek yogurt, and beginning this fall, schools in New York, Idaho, Tennessee and Arizona will start serving Greek yogurt to students. Protein is a cornerstone for a healthy diet, because it helps satisfy cravings throughout the day.
The only craving Greek yogurt can’t help conquer, however, is the craving for more Greek yogurt!
