Chobani wins gold for Olympic partner popularity

Move over Visa and McDonald’s – there’s a new popularity leader among the Olympic partners.

Chobani, one of the nation’s leading companies in the Greek yogurt market, has claimed top spot in social media popularity rankings.

According to the Business Insider, social media sharing and measurement company AddThis has determined Chobani’s Champions advertising campaign to be the most effective, winning the online race between official Olympic partners, including big names such as United Airlines, Visa, Omega and McDonald’s.

Over the course of a three-day period ,beginning on July 19, AddThis measured mentions on social networks, articles, and Twitter followers.

Chobani was found to have the greatest reach. Its campaign features former Olympian softball player Jennie Finch.

During the upcoming Olympics, Chobani yogurt will be a “substantial new advertiser,” says this article from The Associated Press.
