New Holland Sales Stables

Dairy replacement sales results from New Holland, Pa. on Aug. 27. Compared to last week, dairy cows sold mostly steady. Demand was good. Bred heifers sold mostly steady compared to a light test last week. Demand was moderate. Trade was active. Wednesday's supply included 93 fresh milking cows, 10 springing cows, 20 short bred cows, 55 springing heifers, 36 short bred heifers, 48 open heifers, and 8 bulls. One hundred percent of reported supply Holsteins unless otherwise noted. All sales sold on a per head basis.

Dairy replacement sales results from Springfield, Mo., on Aug. 27. Demand good, supply moderate with near 10% springer heifers, 16% bred heifers, 35% open heifers, 3% fresh heifers and cows, 2% milking cows, 4% springer cows, and 5% baby calves. The balance was steer/bull calves and slaughter cows. Several Milking and bred cows sold by the pound. Holsteins unless noted otherwise. Prices reported on a per head basis.
