Beginning in 2015, dairy producers who wish to qualify for the maximum TAEP cost share will need to participate in two of three master dairy modules annually. Dairy producers are encouraged to take advantage of continuing education opportunities in 2014, although certification won’t be required for the 50 percent cost share until 2015. Dr. Sha Tao to become dairy faculty member at the University of Georgia-Tifton
Sha Tao will become assistant professor in Heat Stress Physiology and Nutrition at the University of Georgia, effective July 1. He is currently is a post-doctoral associate at the University of Florida’s Department of Animal Sciences.
In his new position, he plans to build upon an active research and Extension program to further explore how heat stress affects cow and calf performance, and to seek proper management tools to cope with the negative impacts of heat stress in Southeast.
UF seeking candidates for Dairy Cattle Well-Being assistant professor
The University of Florida has an opening for a position in Dairy Cattle Health and Well-Being at the rank of assistant or associate professor. This is a joint faculty position in the Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences (LACS) in the College of Veterinary Medicine and the Department of Animal Sciences, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) at the University of Florida.
