The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports city plans to extend sewer services and develop office buildings in place of agricultural settings have the last New Berlin dairy relocating.

Development pushes dairy out of Wisconsin townThe 90-cow dairy on about 250 acres southwest of Milwaukee will move to Rock County. Farm owner Ray Saltzmann expects business offices to replace farms in the next few years. He has sold his dairy to two of his employees. Saltzmann will help the two get the farm up and running in its new spot.

Saltzmann plans to retire at the farm home on his property which has been in the family since the 1960s. He says developers interested in buying his land visit from time to time. Saltzmann would prefer developers eventually zone the land for business use to add jobs and money to the community.
