Like Rocky Road ice cream? If so, you may be a good listener.

A new study from Baskin-Robbins shows that ice cream flavor may be the key into a person’s character.  The findings uncovered interesting insights into ice cream’s flavorology.

"We uncovered quite a few surprising findings when investigating what a person’s favorite ice cream flavor says about their personality," said Alan Hirsch, a nationally-recognized smell-and-taste expert, who partnered with Baskin-Robbins for the study. "For instance, we found that people who prefer Rainbow Sherbet are more pessimistic than you would think, in spite of the flavor’s bright taste profile, and that those who prefer Rocky Road are actually very good listeners.”

Some of the flavor and personality trait combinations include:

  • Vanilla: Impulsive, easily suggestible and an idealist.
  • Chocolate: Dramatic, lively, charming, flirtatious, seductive and gullible.
  • Mint Chocolate Chip: Argumentative, frugal and cautious.
