Fire kills 17 calves at Idaho farm

A controlled burn at a farm near Wendell, Idaho, spread to a barn, igniting the structure and killing 17 calves.

According to the KMVT News, seven calves were able to escape.

"We got a lot of financial income from that so we're not going to be getting it now," owner Karla Coronado told reporters.

This is the third fire to ravage dairy farms in the past few weeks. A barn fire killed 35 calves in Iowa, and 40 animals were killed after fire ripped through a Minnesota barn.
