With the start of the football season just around the corner, dairy producers are invited to show support for their favorite NFL teams and/or players in the third annual Show Your Pride photo contest.

The contest, made possible through the Fuel Up to Play 60 partnership between the National Dairy Council and the National Football League, encourages dairy producers of all ages to turn to their creative side for a chance to win an on-the-farm visit from an NFL player.

Contest guidelines include:

  • Involving family, employees and/or cows by getting them to wear your favorite NFL’s team-related gear.
  • Or decorating your barn in NFL colors, team banners or posters.

Send photos as JPEG files to Stephanie Beeman at sbeeman@milk4u.org by Sept. 14, 2012. Be sure to include your name, address and telephone number.

Photos will be uploaded to a website by mid-September, where farmers, industry representatives and others can vote on their favorite photo through mid-October. More  information, including a link, will be available as soon as voting begins.

Some dairy farmers will get a second chance at winning an NFL prize pack. Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association will draw two local winners at random to receive four tickets to a football game hosted by the Philadelphia Eagles or the Pittsburgh Steelers. Read more here.

Green Bay Packer fan Matt Diederich, a Wisconsin high schooler and die-hard Cheesehead, was named the 2011 Show Your Pride winner. See his winning picture here.
