A barn fire over the weekend at a Pennsylvania dairy killed four animals and destroyed part of a barn.
According to The Danville News, owner Tim Baumert was able to call fire crews immediately once the fire started. It took fire crews from seven stations around two hours to control the fire.
Despite their efforts, part of the barn was destroyed and four of the dairy’s animals killed.
Baumert believes that hay likely ignited, causing the fire. He believes that hay stacked in the barn warmed up and went through a heat cycle.
“All it takes is one bale and poof, it’s gone,” he said
