Budding animal scientists now have a membership program that’s built just for youth. The Jr. Animal Scientist program, developed by the American Society of Animal Science, launches Oct. 15. It is open to elementary and middle-school students interested in learning more about animal science and animal production.
Cost per member is $20, which includes a year subscription to the Jr. Animal Scientist magazine, access to an exclusive "Jr. Animal Scientist" section at AnimalSmart.org, a monthly e-mail newsletter, a Jr. Animal Scientist backpack, and a Jr. Animal Scientist water bottle.
The first issue of the magazine, which will debut Nov. 1, focuses on the science of milk. Subscribers can find corresponding info-graphics and activities related to dairy production at AnimalSmart.org
Classrooms and 4-H/FFA programs interested in the program may order copies of the Jr. Animal Scientist magazine at a reduced cost.
