Federal officials announced on Friday that an Iowa dairy has agreed to pay a $20,000 civil penalty to settle alleged violations of the Clean Water Act.

According to the Des Moines Register, the Environmental Protection Agency inspected the County Edge Dairy near Inwood, Iowa, in July 2012 and found that the dairy lacked adequate waste control facilities to prevent discharge into tributaries of Dry Run Creek. Read more here.

Under the agreement, the dairy has certified that it now in compliance with the Clean Water Act. This agreement is subject to a public comment period before being finalized.
