The Lake County News-Sun reports the fourth annual Bonner Spring Fling in Lindenhurst, Ill. featured live dairy cows to give families an historic farm experience.
The Bonner Spring Fling at Bonner Heritage Farm allowed families to churn butter, play in a petting zoo and go on a wagon ride. The new and most popular attraction was the demonstration where two living-history farmers enacted he roles of dairy farmers in the 1930s.
Shelby and Amber, two Jersey calves were the center of attention as children learned how cows convert grass to milk.
About 400 people attended the Bonner Spring Fling to visit the grounds, only open to the public twice each year, and celebrate the arrival of spring.
