The Seattle Times reports a $22,000 fine against a Washington state dairy for runoff from applying liquid manure last year has been rescinded.

The Washington Department of Ecology fined the DeRuyter Brothers Dairy southeast of Yakima following an investigation. Mistakes made during the initial investigation surfaced in the appeal of the fine clearing the dairy of wrongdoing.

The penalty was rescinded effective May 10.
