KPTV reports RSC Dairy will pay $12,000 in EPA fines for dumping animal waste into the water.

Violations at the dairy, located in Tillamook, Ore., were found by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency during an inspection in January 2010. The dairy was discharging waste into a tributary of the Wilson River, which empties into Tillamook Bay.

The EPA found samples of waste from the 500-cow dairy with a high concentration of E. coli bacteria.

RSC Dairy has agreed to pay the fines and has taken steps to correct the violations.
