Häagen-Dazs has a message for its fans – you’ve been eating ice cream wrong.

“Just as a fine wine needs to breathe, a premium ice cream needs to temper. That’s a fancy word for ‘soften.’ Tempering lets flavors bloom so ice cream tastes its best,” the company said in a video available here or embedded above.

But what true ice cream fan is willing to wait two minutes for a pint of Häagen-Dazs ice cream to soften? Well, now there is an app to help pass the time in a way “befitting a premium ice cream.”

The hungry ice cream fans aim their “Concerto Timer” app at the lid of their favorite Häagen-Dazs pint, a hologram of a woman playing violin pops up. She plays a classic concerto for the exact time needed to wait for the ice cream to soften.

Add in another pint, and a man playing the cello will join the concert to “enhance the performance.”

Unfortunately for Android users, the app is limited to the iPhone for now. Click here to learn more.
