Ree Drummond films a cooking video for Land O'Lakes

Ree Drummod, the face behind the Pioneer Woman website, cookbooks, novel, and TV show, has closed the gap between agriculture and consumers. Now, in a partnership with Land O’Lakes, Drummond will help home cooks discover a new frontier in their kitchen with the company’s latest butter creation, olive oil and sea salt.

It’s no secret that Drummond prefers butter over today’s alternatives. A quick look at her cookbooks or website yields few recipes lacking it.  In a June 15, 2011 blog post, Drummond admitted to using 121 pounds of butter during a two-week period while taping the initial episodes of her Food Network show, “Pioneer Woman Cooks.”  That is more than 24 times more butter than the average American consumed in 2008

Pioneer Woman: Pass the butter“Butter is a very important ingredient in my cooking, and I’ve been a loyal Land O’Lakes user for many years. There’s hardly a more authentic partner for the Pioneer Woman,” Drummond said in a news release. “I love the flavor butter adds to dishes. There’s just no substitute for it.”

Drummond has become an Internet sensation since launching her blog nearly six years ago. Her site gives connects suburbia with the country through cattlemen- and kid-approved recipes, photos and stories from her family’s Oklahoma ranch and a glimpse into the life of a city girl turned into a rural housewife.

Today her site attracts 20 million page views each month thanks to her 2 million fans. Read more about her agriculture-based empire here.
