Say 'yes' to Domino’s Pizza by paying it forward

Last month, Domino’s Pizza shareholders stood against the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) by voting against a resolution requiring pork suppliers to stop housing gestating sows in stalls. Despite pressure from the HSUS, Domino’s opted to consult animal behaviorists and  husbandry experts to determine the best care for the animals.

Now, a group of farmers is urging agriculture supporters to join an industry-wide pizza party this coming weekend to "pay it forward" by purchasing a pizza from Domino’s and leaving a note of appreciation with the manager.

“Domino’s decision speaks volumes to me as a farmer,” Missouri hog farmer Chris Chinn, wrote in her blog.  “It shows they trust the experts I trust.  It shows they trust me. I appreciate that."

Those interested in paying it forward are encouraged to join the Ag Pizza Party Facebook event page, where more information will be made available throughout the week.

So far, nearly 400 people have signed up to purchase a pizza from Domino’s, and support has been pouring in:

  • “ABSOLUTELY YES!! I have to drive 45 miles to get to Domino's, but we'll do it this weekend! Thanks for the organization of this event!” – Debbie Lyons-Blythe
  • “I'm not sure where the closest Domino's is, but by golly I'm going to find it.” – Zac Bray
  • “Oh yeah! Gonna be serving Domino's on the farm on Friday night! What a great way to recycle...by Friday we'll be planting the soybeans that feed the cows that make the milk that makes the cheese for the pizza to feed the farmers :) I'd say this is a win-win :)” – Sarah Bedgar Wilson

Find out more about the event through Facebook, The Truth About Agriculture and Chinn’s blog.

It's not the shareholders or the pizza party attendees who decide........it is the general public who will judge what to make of Domino's decision.

And the public says good job to Domino's. The HS$US is an extremist lobbying organizaiton, and I don't take my marching orders from them
