Southwest Dairy Day slated for Oct. 18

Dairymen from across Texas are slated to gather in Stephenville Oct. 18 for the annual Southwest Dairy Day. This year's event, which will be held at the Southwest Regional Dairy Center, will run from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will include booth vendors, equipment dealers and educational opportunities.

This year's dairy day, which is hosted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and Tarleton State University, will include seminars on emerging technology to improve air quality for dairies, environmental issues affecting dairies and ways to improve feeding strategies. State Rep. Sid Miller and State Sen. Craig Estes will serve as keynote speakers.
Attendees will be eligible for two dairy outreach program area credits that are required of dairy owners and representatives by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
