The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports  more people are interested in the source of their food as this year’s Breakfast on the Farm at Rosendale Dairy near Pickett, Wisc. attracted more than three times the average attendance.

The annual event is hosted by a different farm each year. Visitors to the dairy learned more about the farm and its high-tech operations through a guided tour. Bill Harke, director of public affairs for Milk Source, which owns Rosendale Dairy, said this dairy uses technology that won’t be seen anywhere else in Wisconsin.

Brenda Gudex, director of Agricultural Programs for Fond du Lac Area Association of Commerce, said volunteers planned enough food for 5,000 visitors, but were able to feed 6,000 by making additional trips to nearby grocery stores.

The rich history is another draw for many of the visitors to the event.
