Then she did the math, and things didn’t add up to her satisfaction. According to Dairy Carrie, Maxwell said HSUS is “directly responsible for the placement of 100,000 pets last year.”
And she was quick to point out of the $120 million dollars spent last year by HSUS, the organization was able to help only 1 percent find homes – 1 percent.
HSUS is commonly known for their “Three R” approach – Reduce, Refine and Replace.
In a nut shell, replacing and reducing meat and animal-based foods by switching to a plant-based diet.
It doesn’t take much thought to realize this approach supports the abolishment of animal agriculture. As Dairy Carrie pointed out, she believes HSUS is missing one R – Redundant.
“Your goal is for us to both reduce and replace meat in our diets. That agenda is where the dollars donated are going. That is what The Humane Society of the United States stands for,” she concluded.
It will be interesting to see the feedback from Dairy Carrie’s response letter from animal rights activists and people in animal agriculture.
So until the next controversial event – hammer on, Dairy Carrie, hammer on.
