Research by the University of South Australia shows Australians could save nearly $2 billion in health care expenses by consuming the recommended daily amount of dairy products, according to Weekly Times Now.

About 65 percent of Australians don’t get their recommended daily servings of dairy products.

Research by the health economics and social policy group at the university considered the benefits of consuming dairy products and health care expenses caused by low dairy consumption in the country.

Leonie Segal, the study co-author, listed dairy’s beneficial effects on type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke, hypertension and osteoporosis. Dairy products also help to maintain a healthy body weight.

Findings from the research were shared in New Zealand at the Nutrition Society conference last week.

Dairy products make up 40% of the average American's diet. We have a diabetes and obesity epidemic along with high rates of heart disease and osteoporosis. Don't fall for this dairy industry propaganda disguised as research.

Very true. the only sponsors or research on milk that is positive are done by the Milk and Dairy groups. Let's all let the fox guard the hen house!

According to many medical professionals who are having huge success rates reversing all diseases mentioned in this article, cow milk IS the cause, not the cure. This study must be funded by those with ties to the industry. We know in America, data is skewed in favor of promoting the interests of pharmaceutical giants, meat and dairy multinationals, and large sums of money by these industries keep university and private researchers in business. The HIGHEST rates of these diseases ARE found in westernized societies consuming the highest rates of animal based "food",. People who eat delicious plant based nutrients DO NOT get osteoporosis, diabetes, or heart disease. In FACT, the symptoms of these diseases go away!!

This phoney baloney nonsense must be a joke. I mean who could believe this bs that milk reduces diabetes. The people who put this website together should be prosecuted for lying to the public.

All studies not bought by the dairy industry show that milk, cheese and yogurt consumption are one of the root causes of our present obesity epidemic - not to mention arthritis, depression, diabetes, heart disease and cancer, as dairy is highly inflammatory and provides natural and introduced growth hormones that wreak havoc in the body. Furthermore, the myth that we get needed calcium from dairy products has long been debunked: We get calcium (plus all the other minerals needed for healthy bone growth!) from plant material: vegetables, herbs, whole grains, legumes and fruit.
