Gov. Sam Brownback announced last week he has chosen Robin Jennison as secretary of the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks. Jennison is a former speaker of the Kansas House. He is a farmer, rancher and avid outdoorsman.
One of the ways Brownback wants to grow the state’s economy is by attracting additional out-of-state hunters, fishermen and outdoor enthusiasts. He expressed confidence Jennison has the knowledge, experience and skills to help meet this objective.
“Gov. Brownback has a vision for Kansas that recognizes the important role and potential the state parks play in our quality of life,” said Jennison.
The Healy native must be confirmed by the Kansas Senate. State legislators will convene the 2011 session this week in Topeka.
