Students in Professor Brittany Howell’s 610 Beef Production class at Fort Hays State University are hosting a beef advocacy event this week on campus. The class is inviting students from across the campus to come sample flat iron steak, beef jerky and pulled barbecue beef, while learning more about the animal care, environmental stewardship, food safety and nutrition aspects of modern beef production.

A beef version of the game show Jeopardy will serve as an entertaining way for Fort Hays students to increase their depth of knowledge about the industry. Fifth-generation livestock producer Glenn Brunkow, who authors an agricultural blog, will host the trivia contest.

Sponsors of tomorrow's event are Fort Hays State , the Kansas Beef Council, Kansas Farm Bureau, Collegiate Farm Bureau, Brookover Feedyard and the 610 Beef Production class.
