More than a hundred dairy industry members gathered to learn the latest advancements in livestock feeding solutions and reap awards at Alltech’s first-ever Gator Giveaway reception during the World Ag Expo.

Attendees were educated on Alltech’s In-Vitro Fermentation Model (IFM), a new support tool for nutritionists that not only evaluates and troubleshoots dairy rations to maximize feed efficiency and combat ever-rising feed costs, but also estimates the amount of energy lost as methane and methane emissions per animal.  The diagnostic tool helps dairy producers and their nutritionists better manage an operations production costs and carbon footprint.

In addition to IFM, attendees also learned about Alltech’s Mycotoxin 37+ testing and management programs, farm audits, and testing of feeds and feedstuffs.

Alltech drew several prizes throughout the reception, including iPads, a trip to Alltech’s 30th Annual International Symposium, and the grand prize, a John Deere Gator XUV 855D.

This year the grand prize John Deere Gator XUV855D and an iPad were awarded to Brian Medeiros of Medeiros & Son Dairy, Hanford, Calif.  A second iPad was awarded to Tony Thomas of Tony Thomas Dairy, Riverdale, Calif., and a trip to Alltech’s 30th Annual International Symposium was awarded to Manuel Lawrence of Manuel Lawrence Dairy, Hanford.
